This is the road base outside our Drifta factory. It has been down for several years, and is very compacted. The snow peak stake hammered in easily..

One thing really surprised me, was how much vibration there was with the steel peg.. it really showed up how the head is not directly over the shank.. see how the snow peak stake made a neat hole, straight in.. well the steel peg, it just didn’t want to go in, and kept jumping around.. see the hole it made..

This really shows up how well the forged stake is designed.. it’s make to crack through rock.. you know how frustrating it is, to get a peg half way in, the it hits something.. then bends.. well the forged stake will break straight thru without bending..

These stakes are not super cheap, but you only need a dozen, and that will last you a lifetime. Hammering pegs in is normally a shit job, but with these beautifully crafted stakes, you’ll love hammering them in..

The stakes are designed to work with the snow peak hammer, which has a shaped hook on the end, that is used to pull the peg out.. but it would still work ok with a normal hammer…

the secret here, is to be able to twist the stake around a few times, then it will come out much easier.. 12 x 300 mm stakes would be all you need for most camp setups, and will last you forever..
