(only available for the large firepit)
½ hotplate, ½ grill net, and a custom canvas bag to suit.. these fit on the large firepit only.. kit excludes Grill Bridge
If you already have a large firepit, or are thinking of getting one, then the ½ and ½ give you a lot more cooking options… more suited for a smaller family, ie 3-4 people.. we use these a lot. For dinner, the half net for cooking chops, steak, sauso’s, or chicken drumsticks. While the hotplate, we use for veges, like potato wedges, asparagus, corn, onion, beans, mushy’s etc…the hotplate is 40 mm deep, so you could use it like a frypan.. for breakfast, it’s mostly bacon and eggs, both cooked in the hotplate, and toast on the ½ grill net…
One trick i have learnt, is if i’m cooking a large meal, that might take a while, ie for a larger group, when i might have to put two lots of meat on etc, is i’ll throw some heat beads around the outside, in the fire.. heat beads work great, and last for a long time.. so coals will die out after about 30 – 45 minutes, depending how good the wood is, how big the coals are. But heat beads will last for 60 – 90 minutes.. so by chucking some on even half way thru cooking, will keep the heat going a lot longer.. nothing worse than getting half way thru cooking a meal, and the heat runs out.. this is where practice comes in : ) but that’s half the fun.. but yeah i always carry a bag of heat beads, (the red bag ones) and they are handy sometimes to use like this…
