DRIFTA RAPID WING 270 DEG AWNING
2.4 meters long, 17 kgs.. span 2.7 m on four poles.
For car based camping/ travelling, this awning has been a godsend.. quick enough to put up for lunch/smoko, strong enough to last and handle the wind/ storms, and enough coverage for overnight stops, particularly covering the rear doors.. there has been a huge influx of cheap side awnings lately, but many of these are not going to last long, so if you are after a quality 270 degree awning, then this is the best you can buy.. We have now included a zip to the awning for a much better method of attaching walls, this also reduces the bulkiness of the awning when packed away.

FAQ SECTION
CAN I FIT WALLS TO THE AWNING..
YES, we can now offer a tapered wall, to fit the rapid wing.. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS
WILL IT STAND UP TO HEAVY RAIN/ WIND..
yes, if you peg it down properly.. this is very important, which is why we combine it with the sand pegs (for the beach) and the snow peak stakes (for normal ground) ..
if it’s raining, watch water doesn’t collect/ pool on top, you need to have some poles slightly higher, and some slightly lower, so the water will easily run off…
WILL IT FIT ON ANY ROOFRACK?
Yes it will pretty much fit to any roofrack.. it comes with some angle brackets, like for a rhino rack style bars, or can bolt to the side of many awnings, without the brackets needed.. like the ARB style ones…
HOW DO I BUY ONE, HOW DO YOU SEND THEM OUT?
You can purchase them on the shopping cart, links above, either as a full fit form, or as separate items.. if sending the awning, it will need to go with star track express.. so you’ll need either a business address, or an address where someone is always available.. star track, like most freight companies, won’t leave it unattended, and charge extra for second deliveries.. price for freight will appear at checkout…
CAN THE AWNING BE MOUNTED ON DUAL CABS?
The awning can only mount to either the canopy bars OR the vehicle roof rack – you can NOT mount to both as there is flex between the vehicle and tub.
The awning manufacturer have explained to us that the MAXIMUM overhang that the awning can have from the closest mounting point is 1000mm. The awning is 2500mm long, so you’ll need to measure from the point at the rear of the vehicle where the awning will sit, and see if you have more than 1000mm overhang past the front mounting on the canopy.
- If the overhang is more than 1000mm they don’t recommend using the awning as it will have too much flex.
- If the overhang is less than 1000mm the awning is fine to install.
