DRIFTA OZTENT CARRY BAG

Strong Australian canvas, with large two inch webbing, on top is our separate pole bag, this isn’t included, but available, see Drifta tent pole bag here..

Made in our Drifta HQ canvas factory, we make a huge range now of bags and canvas products.. four machines, it’s become a very busy part of our Drifta business..

The oztent bag material is just not strong enough, and doesn’t hold up.. the webbing becomes frayed, and the bag easily gets holes.. we are using a 8 ounce Australian made canvas, with quality webbing…

The original oztent bags were like this, with the zip only half way up the tent, this made it very difficult to get the tent back inside the bag.. if you have one of these original bags, chances are it will need replacing..

the second version of the oztent bag, has a full zip, so much better, but the bag is slightly too small, and it’s still a struggle to get the tent in..

With our three way opening top, the tent can easily sit straight inside. The bag is a more generous size, about 50 mm longer, wider and higher than the original..

This zip, with the small teeth, is just hard to operate.. small dust and dirt make it very hard to run.. and with a single zip, if it breaks, then you are in trouble..

the YKK Japanese made zips are widely regarded as the best available for this type of bag. Large teeth, they just run so smoothly.. with two zips, it’s much easier and quicker to get the bag open and closed..

Also with the single zip, with the tent on the roofrack, where it usually sits, water can get in down the middle, thru the zip.. with our three sided version, the zip is hidden under a valance around the edge. It’s not waterproof, but definitely a whole lot better to stop water getting in..

Once the oztent bag is half done up, it gets really tight, and there is a lot of pressure on the zip, which is what causes it to fail.. our bag has more room, and also with the zip on the side, there isn’t as much pressure to hold it together.. you can see how this zip has had so much pressure it snapped in half..

Now oztents come with a single strap for hold it together, when packing up… you might have lost or broken this strap, or if like me, I like to use three straps, as the better the tent is held together, the easier it is to put in the bag..

We are including one of these straps in every oztent canvas bag, so you can use them to help hold your oztent together.. they are 1100 mm long, quality one inch webbing and buckles.. I think you’ll find them very handy..

So that’s our bag, you won’t really need it if you buy a new oztent, but at least you know that when it starts getting a bit old, that you can easily get a new one, and if you have an older oztent, then this new bag will make a lot of difference, and be much easier to use…

Drifta canvas couldn’t survive on it’s own, but as part of the Drifta brand, it’s generating a lot of turnover, and employing half a dozen people…
