Maxtrax Mounting Pin Set
NYLON AND STAINLESS BOLT.
HOLDS ONE OR TWO PAIR OF MAXTRAX
Made for securing max trax to a flat mounting surface, such as some roofracks, toolbox, or canopy.
These can be tricky to use on a roofrack, best to just use a strap.. you can buy some special racks for them, but cost nearly $200, and I just use a MSA fridge strap, they are really good… (see MSA fridge straps here) but if you want to mount them on a flat or vertical surface, then the max trax mounting pins are really good.. holds up to 4 max trax (mark 11 only, the current model) , so that’s two pair.. ideal for the front of a canopy/ toolbox etc.. like shown below..
It’s important to get the holes in just the right spot, as they fit very snug.. if you are 3 mm out say, then they won’t want to go on..
So measure carefully, drill holes, and just bolt them on.. best to mount to a scrap piece of board, like some ply, test fit, if correct, use the board as the stencil to mark the holes..
This is shown with one set only, so will hold a second set no worries..
But, if they are full of mud etc, then you won’t be able to fit 2 pair.. one pair would still be fine..
You can buy this small wire lock from woollies.. it’s handy to use, you don’t want people to nick your maxtrax..
So this is the kit.. for the right application, they are very handy…
